Environmental Wind Tunnel

Introduction:

An environmental wind tunnel laboratory refers to an indoor facility that artificially simulates natural environmental conditions—including temperature, humidity, wind speed, airflow, rainfall, snowfall, and more—through the coordinated use of temperature control equipment, humidity regulators, solar simulation devices, main fans and duct systems, fresh air systems, and other subsystems.

Countercurrent Hurricane: When wind speeds reach 100 kilometers per hour, it becomes impossible for a person to stand steadily. However, the massive fans in the wind tunnel laboratory can simulate hurricanes with speeds of up to 265 kilometers per hour to test vehicle performance and behavior under such extreme weather conditions.

Extreme Cold: The wind tunnel laboratory can lower the internal temperature to -40 degrees Celsius to test the heating systems of vehicles. When the temperature drops below freezing, the equipment switches to "cold light sources" because neon lights cannot withstand frost. At sub-zero temperatures, pre-cooled water mist quickly turns into ice and snow, and the metal floor inside the wind tunnel becomes as slippery as an ice rink.

Our environmental wind tunnel adopts an open-circuit direct-flow design and is equipped with an intelligent movable rain simulation system. It can automatically adjust raindrop size and rainfall intensity, enabling simulation of various rain conditions and raindrop sizes under any wind speed. This allows for performance evaluation of windshield rain removal systems.
